Sweet Sugar

Sweet sugar, that's what I call my baby girl.  Well she's not a baby anymore but that's another story.  I have been known to have a sweet tooth which is probably why my family decided to take me on a road trip to a really neat candy store for Mother's Day last year.  If you are ever in Northern California stop by Powell's Sweet Shoppe (in Windsor or Healdsburg).  This place was so much fun with lots of things that you can't find anywhere else.  My hubby picked up some of his favorite childhood sweets, Zots.  Not to be confused with my favorite adhesive by the same name :)  All cardstock in this layout is from Stampin Up's Bold Brights collection (before they did the color changes).  Well the purple is not because the purple in that pack is actually more pastel.  This is Wausau cardstock and the white is my good ole Walmart stuff.  The title is done on my Cricut with my Gypsy and Pooh Font on the Marker and Marker shadow features.  Tons of circles from George and Basic Shapes.  The gumball machine was located on the Sweethearts cartridge which I do not own so I used my favorite trick.  I placed the cut on my virtual mat and then opened another layer and placed shapes on top that were the same or similar until I created my own version.  It was cut completely with George.  I need opinions on this machine though.  As you can see I placed a picture of gumballs in the machine but I am not sure I like it.  Hubby thinks I should just cut out the gumballs for it.  I was thinking if there was some way to shrink the picture to include more gum that would be really neat.  All ideas appreciated.

As you can see in this close up, I pop dotted the turny thing and the opening thing(not the technical terms).  I think that part turned out really cute.

  1. Wow, you are so darn creative.. I LOVE it. But I agree, I don't think I like the gumballs in the machine, tiny ones would be cute. Yes, we should get together, if I ever had a day off from cleaning the bathrooms. lol. hugs
