Scrap Camp

I wanted to share some layouts that I did at my crapbook retreat last weekend.  My scrappy girlfriends have been getting together at what we call "Scrap Camp" for close to 8 years.  We gather in a lodge at a campground in beautiful Albion, Ca.  We each take turns cooking one meal and we do need to bring our own bedding and bring in firewood, but we pretty much have the run of the place.  We love it.  Almost all of us have Cricuts too so we share carts and other supplies.  This time I spent alot of time helping some newbies with their bugs and Gypsys since I am the resident Cricut expert.I got 15 pages done.  This first one is from my son's first sleepaway camp this last July.  I was lucky enough to get some pictures since I followed the bus to the camp to bring some chaperones home.  It actually turns out that this is the same camp I worked at in college, just with a new name.  The background paper is from Die Cuts With a View Eco stack, the trees are a sizzix die that my friend leant me, and I used some ink with a blender pen to enhance them, the stems were colored with my Smooch chocolate ink.  The sweet little raccon is from Give a Hoot and the tent is from Camp Out.  Most of the other paper is just scraps from the stash.  The title was done with Pooh Font on some ivory paper, then inked, chalked and doodled.
This layout was inspired by one I saw on a blog and I forget where.  I used my photo app on my Gypsy to store some projects to scraplift.  The blue background is DCWV but not sure which stack.  it has some shimmer to it.  The black and white print is from the paper i got from the Scrapmaster.  The black circles are DCWV All dressed Up stack and the blue ones are papers from Cosmo Cricket DeLovely mini pad.  The title is Plantin Schoolbook, then embossed with my Cuttlebug and sprayed with Vanilla Smooch Spritz.  Flowers are a random assortment from my stash, and the black one started out white but was inked.  The black flourish was one given to me by my Not So Secret Sister from the Cricut Messsageboard.

This one was another scraplift.  Background paper from Scrapmaster, blue pattern is My Mind's eye and the pumpkin was a scrap that I stole off my mom's table when she wasn't looking(shh don't tell her).  The banner was made with triangles from the George and Basic Shapes cartridge that were stretched out on my Gypsy.  The title is Hello Kitty Font the round feature.  I added some twine and some stickles to finish it off.

This layount was fun to do.  You all know I am not a stamper but since my friends are I ended up doing alot of it this weekend since I was free to play with their goodies.  I made this background with Pretty in Pink cardstock from Stampin Up, a flourish stamp from Close to my Heart (from the westwern flourishes set) and two colors of ink.  The scalloped border was made with my Martha Stewart heart punch around the page edge punch.  I just covered the hearts with some more pink, then used another piece of purple over that.  I embossed that with my Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder using a technique I learned on Tim Holtz's blog to emboss a 12 inch strip.  My most favorite part of this though is the grandfather clock.  I made this on my Gypsy.  i first placed a clock from the Nursery Rhyme cartridge (that none of us own) on one mat, then went to another mat to place shapes to recreate it.  I made it much simpler than the original.  I mostly used the George cart, but used the clock from Locker Talk for the layer.  The mouse is from Doodlecharms.  This was also my first time welding a title long ways using the Storybook cartridge.

This layout also uses paper from Scrapmaster.  The title is (I think) Sans Serif and the adorable little pumpkin is from Smiley cards.  I had cut a candy corn from the cartridge for my mom to scrap these same pics and real;ized I should have done the same here as it matches my daughter's face in the candy corn cutout.  The eyes were too tiny to cut so I used some tiny black pearls.

This one I used a sizzix die for the zig zag border, some random papers that have been in my stash forever and the George font.  I think I might go back and add some little soccer balls, stamped and punched to the straight blue border, what do you think?
On this one I wanted to match the Graduation announcements I had made here.  So I used basically all the same papers and just added the pink background from that Scrapmaster stack.  The title is all from Locker Talk and done with my Gypsy.  I plan to journal in the red box.  The funny thing about this is that I did not have enough of the purple for the title so I had to cut a piece out of the back ;eaving a gaping hole.  good thing noone will see it.
This one I used ivory cardstock and some easter pages that i got on clearance at Beverly's for 10 cents each.  The flourish stamp is embellished with some doodling, coloring and bling.  The title does not show well here, but I cut brackets from Plantin Schoolbook and then hand wrote the words {Easter Baskets} on one page and {fileld with love} on the next.  The basket and eggs are from Doodlecharms.  I also used my piercing bugs for the first time.  I used a ruler to keep them straight, then used the holes for my faux stitching so it would be even.
This one was a burst on inspiration I got while scrapping all alone at 1 AM.  I told the other girls I would go to bed as soon as I finished the other page I was working on, but then this just came to me and I had to get it down before I forgot.  The font is Cricut Keystone, the large aple was done at Fit to Page on the Expression from the Doodlecharms cartridge.  The pencil is from Smiley Cards and if you look closely you can see that it wrote "2010"  And yes I know the {K} is missing.  this is not due to lack of sleep but rather lack of glue.  You can barely see the glue residue where this fell off.  Unfortunately I do not own this cart, nor do I have any of that paper left so I will need to fix this somehow.
Papers here are some more 10 cent easter stuff and more DeLovely.  Eggs are from Doodlecharms and I stamped the title.
This last one the papers are some I boughht at Joann's on a trip to my mom's last summer.  The title is from Sweet Treats and is enhanced with stickles.  The purple cardstock is from the stash and I used EK success candles edge punch and Martha Stewart loop punch.  I colored the flames in with Pumpkin Smooch.
Here is a close up of the tone on tone border I made by combining two different stamps on one clear block

Thanks for reading this super long post.  And if you just scrolled through the pictures....well that's okay too!
