The invites-these were created on my Gypsy and cut on my Cricut. The cartridges used were Alphalicious and Mickey Font
The banner- This was made with my Gypsy also. I used George and Basic Shapes for the triangles and Old West for the lettering and Sweet Treats for the cupcake and party hat
These signs were made while I was demoing at Best Buy. I used the Gypsy just so that I could maximize my space on the cutting mat and the Old West cartridge
I also made some cool Back to School cards for my children's teachers while I was demo-ing the Expression at Michael's, but I was a bad scrapper/blogger and forgot to take a picture.
Now that the kids are at school and the party is over, I have had some crafting time. I used the time to create something special for a friend that is expecting. I made her a Prayer Journal to write Prayers and Thoughts about her new little one and a card to go with. I used BoBunny Peacock Lane collection along with some pink cardstock. First up is the card which was also to fit a challenge over at Papercraft Star. I used the New Arrival cartridge for the sentiment and Storybook for the scalloped rectangle as well as my Gypsy to determine sizing and to make the scalloped border. This also fits the challenge at Sugar Sweet Paper Treats which was to create something that did not have a normal top or side fold. My card is what I think is called a gate fold. The rectangle is actually how you open it
On the matching journal I mimicked the rectangle from the card. I used my Gypsy and Pooh Font(since it was similar to the font from the card) to nmake the wording, some Primas and silk flowers from my stash and some gems to finish this altered composition book. My friends fave colors are blue, green, pink and purple so I am sure she is going to love it!
And I have some news to share with you! I finally got myself an Expression machine. I have been saving for awhile now but every time I would get the money something would come up. I had an opportunity to make some extra money by driving chaperones to summer camp. I was paid 50 cents per mile on two seperate days. I chose the pink Expression because it was on sale for $299 and I figured I could sell all the cartridges to offset some of the cost. I started using it today and i am loving it! Plus they have the Buy One Get One deal going on now so I am really excited to possibly get one for the kids' school!
Love all the birthday decorations!! Great job on the card, I need to try a tri-fold :) Thanks for inspiring us at Papercraft Star!
