Inktegrity Hump day Inspiration

OK so I know Hump day has come and gone but it's been a long week and I have been a little pre-occupied watching my Giants in the playoffs.  I really thought they were going to clinch it last night at home, but alas the torture continues and it is back to Philly for another game.  So over at the Inktegrity challenge blog it is time for another challenge.  And there is also a surprise in store at the image blog.  Can you say free digis?  So go check it out. 

This is my card for this week's challenge using the Apple Basket image available in the store.  I am not sure about my coloring on this one but I was trying to get them to look like the gorgeous Pink Ladies we saw on our trip to the Apple Orchard last week.  I wish I could share a picture but Blogger is giving me problems at the moment. 

Hey Pumpkin and the playoffs

Today I have two new projects to share with you.  It's time for a new challenge at Inktegrity.  The challenge is super simple, just link up any Fall or halloween themed project and be entered to win some free digis from the store.  Here is a card I created with the Tractor stamp set.  I decided to do a card that would fit into a business sized envelope.  This measures 8.5x4 inches.  I used some Tangerine Bazzill Basics cardtock as the base color and the yellow is Stampin Up from the Bold Brights collection before it was renovated.  I used my new Martha Stewart Deco Fan border punch which is part of a Punch Around the Page set.  The images were printed as close together as I could get them and then I just faked that they were attached by coloring a line and adding some silver dots/bolts to my wagon handle.  These were colored with my Zig markers and some stickles.  The edges were inked with some Cat's Eye chalk inks and I did the sky and grass with my Memento Dew drop ink pads and direct to paper technique. 

This is the challenge over at Papercraft Star this week.  I do not celebrate Halloween but I do usually go on the hunt at this time of year for paper that I can use for my husband's obsession which is San Francisco Giants Baseball.  When I saw this picture I was drawn to the tablecloth.  The bottom of it reminded me of a baseball jersey.  I thought it would be perfect for pics from a game.  But then when I went to dig out the pictures I cam across these from when my daughter played for the Jr Giants baseball team which is sponsored by the MLB team and teaches the kids things like confidence and leadership.  My hubby and I have coached for the last 3 years and were even asked to be league commisioners(which unfortunately due to other commitments we had to turn down).  So I set to work on basically copying this tablecloth onto a scrapbook page.

What do you think.  Perfect for these pics right?  I used basically the same papers from the card plus some black from my stash and a white 12x12 piece for the background.  The black was run through my Cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder.  I was able to achieve the 12 inch embossed design with a technique that I learned on Tim Holtz's blog that has you cut a slit in the top of your folder.  The scalloped edge is Martha stewart Three Dot edge punch. also part of a PATP set.  I decided to forgo a title here and simple print the organization's logo onto cardstock.  I cut the logo and the yellow shadow with my Creative Memories circle cutters and the Scallop Circle is a Nestabilitie.  The polka dots were done with Creative memories punches.  mY husband doesn't usually have much to say about my stuff, but as soon as I showed him this page he said to me "hey the bottom of that reminds me of a baseball jersey" LOL.  So speaking of the Giants.  They are the National League Division Champions.  Bring on the Philadelphia Phillies, it's playoff time!!! 

Walk-a-thon

Every year my children's school does a Walk-a-thon fundraiser that raises over $14000 for the school.  This year was my daughter's first year to participate.  I used an older sketch from Pagemaps that was part of the LID (Laying it Down) weekly sketch challenge over on the Cricut Message board.  The green and orange paper are American Crafts, the blue is Stampin Up ( I don't know the name but it came in the Brights pack before the color changes and I really need more of it.  SU friends could you please tell me the name and tell me if it is still available) The patterned paper is from Die Cuts with a View All About Boys stack.  I used some ribbon that I bought at Beverly's in the trims section, Paper Doll Dress Up and my Cricut for the shoe.  I cut it out twice and trimmed the bottom for the two colored shoe and added a tiny piece of twine for the laces.  The title is cut from George and basic Shapes as is the tag shape on the ribbon.  A few stickle dots complete the look. 

Fall time is Crop time

Hi there everybody.  Fall is here which means it is almost time for me to go to my twice yearly Scrapbook Crop retreat.  A bunch of us gals meet up together in beautiful Albion near the beach in a beautiful log cabin lodge, staty in our PJs all weekend and just craft.  My mom comes all the way from Clovis to attend with me.  I thought it would be fun to document how we pack for our trip.  Joni at Inktegrity is getting ready to release some great new fall images and I thought this tractor and wagon full of crafty goodness would be perfect.  This definately looks like how we pack.  I colored the images with my Zig pens and used some Crackle Accents on the wheels along with some buttons from my stash.  The scrapbook 101 book is paper ptieced and I added some flowers and buttons from my stash to make it look like a real scrappy stash.  I also cut out some faces from Paper Doll Dress Up and the Cricut to look like my mom and I.  This paisley print paper has been in my stash for quite awhile waiting the perfect page and I believe it is Daisy D's from like 2006.  The teal polka dots is from a K and Co baby stack.  The brown is Stampin Up Chocolate Chip.  I used Hello Kitty Font and the Paisley Cuttlebug folder for my title.  I will be adding a picture of us and my filled to the brim SUV.  Check out the Inktegrity blog for your chance to win these sweet images and visit the store tomorrow for all the new releases.

Daniel in the Lion's den

My son participated in a program called Kids disciples that was started with a bunch of kids who had attended various Vacation Bible Schools.  IOt was taught by a woman that is a retired missionary.  They put on a play about Daniel in the Lion's Den.  Braden loved dressing up and playing a part even if he did have to be one of the bad guys.  I am trying to use up my stash and have not bought paper other than solid cardstock in over a year.  The patterned paper is Die Cuts with a View stack 6 and the red is a scrap of Stampin Up's real Red, the teal was in my scrap stash and not sure where the solid white background is from.  The sketch was from Pagemaps.  I used my Gypsy along with my new Sesame Street font for the title, George and Basic Shapes fro the large star and a star shaped hole punch for the tiny stars, and some border punches and ink to complete the look. 

Apple picking time

I have never been apple picking but I sure would love to.  I really need to find out if there is a place around here to go.  I wanted to share with you some sneak peeks of some soon to be released images over at Inktegrity.  The apple card was colored with my Close to my Heart watercolor pencils and an Aqua painter brush.  I added some doodling with my pens on the little hanky and some CTMH Liquid glass for some shine.  I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.  All my paper is American Crafts except for my white which is from Walmart and red which is a scrap of Stampin Up that was in my bin from my gumball layout the other day.  The patterned paper is from last years American Crafts Christmas stack but works so perfectly for this.  It's hard to tell but the image is actually on the inside of the card.  The outside is cut with Nesties as is the frame that was then embossed with the Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder. 

Candy the Squirrel will be released soon too.  I paper pieced him with papers from my scrap stash and added a bit of coloring and chalk.  For his tail I cut it out twice and on the top layer used my Crop-a-dile II to punch holes to give him a polka dotted tail to match that of the squirrel in the patterned paper.  This paper is from last year's Autumn stack from Recollections, not sure where the orange is from but I used it in the pumpkin card last week.  Some yellow cardstock from my stash was pleated and folded and a sentiment was handwritten to complete this.  this card is also using the sketch challenge over at the Inktegrity challenge site, won't you please play along with us? the winner gets some free digi images.

Beary Special

I usually scrap pictures almost as soon as I get them printed so imagine my surprise when I found these pictures from the beginning of the last school year.  I had forgotten that a friend had given them to me since I was working on the day that the kids got to bring their favorite teddy bear to preschool. Kamrie brought Tenderheart Care Bear.  The reason she has this bear is because for Homecoming my junior year of high school the Peer Counselors decorated their float in my parents backyard and the theme was In the Time of the CareBears.  We made CareAlot Land and the pictures from that are in the very first scrapbookt hat I ever created.  We all dressed up like Care Bears and I was Tenderheart bear so when Kamrie was born my mom bought her this stuffed version.  I followed the sketch posted over at ScrapTiffany.  I used paper from CosmoCricket's Girl Friday collection and cardstock from my Stash.  Both pinks are American Crafts, not sure what the yellow is, the brown in the bear is SU Chocolate chip.  Of course I also used my Martha Stewart loop punch.  The background shape was cut on my Cricut from the Storybook cartridge and stretched out on my Gypsy. 

This was my first attempt at this type of bear.  I was too scared to make her entire body.  I basically cut out a few circles and an oval and a couple of tear drop shapes as well as a heart and then played around with those.  The smaller circles were trimmed by hand and became the ears and hands, the heart was trimmed and became the nose and of course the teardrops became the eyes.  I used some halk, chalk ink, my white signo pen, a brown pen and a pop dot to complete this.  Some doodling and Stickles finished this off.  For anyone who is wondering the title is also done on the Gypsy with the Pooh Font.  Oh and the ribbon up top was an afterthought but I thought it needed something frilly and girly.
